Recital Wrap-Up

It has been two weeks since we performed our winter recital, Space Odyssey! This year had so many twists and turns that I know us (and some of you) were unsure if it was even going to happen. Yet despite all of the obstacles we managed to put on a show in the safest way possible. We wanted to first give out a big THANK YOU to all of the parents and caregivers who helped make this possible and continued to support your children in their dance goals.

So, let’s do a little recap, shall we?

Our original performance date was postponed by one week due to two of our students testing positive for Covid. With our number one priority being the safety of our dancers and their families,

we knew that we could not keep our original show date. We did our best to keep everything the same: still a Saturday show with the same times. Another big priority for us was putting on the show as soon as it was safe to do so. When the show gets put off too much we know that it can really affect the moral of our students. We also know that the longer they spend out of the classroom, the more likely it is they will forget their dances. With a lot of our dancers in multiple dances we wanted to put as little pressure on them as possible and still make it a successful show for them. We also knew that with winter fast approaching it would get harder and harder to get a weekend without rain since our show had to be performed outside. So we thank you for being adaptable and making the new date work!

Despite having to do a lot of classes online our dancers did so amazingly well! All of us here at RBPAC are so incredibly proud of each and every one of our dancers who performed despite everything working against them. We thought that it was very important that dancers get this opportunity to perform so that they know that even though things may be unstable in the world right now they can still have a goal and work towards it. There is an end in sight. Providing this opportunity for them is so beneficial for their mental health.

With that in mind, we hope that all of our families are enjoying a much deserved break. We can’t wait to see everyone again after the New Year! We have a lot of fun things planned and can’t wait to share it with all of you!
